When it officially hits U.S. roads in the future, the Renegade will be the automaker's first true compact crossover, built on the same platform as Fiat's 500L model.  The Renegade will also be the replacement model for the lineup's current Compass and Patriot models. Jeep will offer Renegade buyers two engine options: a 1.4L turbo four-cylinder with 160 horsepower, and a 2.4L, 184 horsepower.

Additionally, the brand also plans to offer a Trail Rated 4x4 edition of the Renegade, tempting consumers months and months before a release.

Originally, the Renegade was thought to be coming stateside sometime around early or mid-2015; however it now appears as though the Renegade will arrive into Jeep dealer showrooms this year, according to a report on Left Lane News.

"New York auto show officials have revealed that the baby Jeep will be available at the end of the year," said Left Lane Senior News Editor Drew Johnson.
