Jeep has a lot in store for us for 2022 – in fact, a majority of their models are going electric for the new model year – with its 4xe plug-in hybrid offered in the Wrangler and redesigned Grand Cherokee. According to The Car Connection, a majority of Jeep's V-6 and V-8 offerings remain intact, but the biggest news for 2022 is the return of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer.

According to Steallantis North America, this is the first year that the Wrangler 4xe was eligible for the prestigious list. Wards Auto, a U.S. auto industry publication, annually rates its ten best engines – and has added “propulsion systems” to the title in order to include electrified vehicles.

The new 2020 Jeep Wrangler EcoDiesel is the first Jeep Wrangler in the U.S. with a diesel engine. The 2020 model features the latest version of Fiat Chrysler's EcoDiesel turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, which can also be seen on the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
